Palmer Lake Colorado is a small community at the top of the Palmer Divide between Colorado Springs and Denver — at over 7,200 feet elevation one of the higher communities in the Front Range corridor. The Black Forest Fire of 2013 burned hundreds of homes in adjacent communities. Palmer Lake sits in the military community corridor between the Air Force Academy and Denver military installations. Water supply from small mountain watersheds creates scarcity vulnerability during drought years.
